For 20 years, Dagens Næringsliv has highlighted the Gaselle companies, fast-growing and often technologically advanced companies, as a central part of Norwegian business. Inspired by economist David Birch and established in Norway in 2003, the award has become a symbol of growth and adaptation in the economy. The criteria, which emphasize growth and profitability, have remained relatively stable, but a new rule in the anniversary year requires at least five million in turnover after four years.
